I had the opportunity to design promotional materials for the Community Board Recruitment 2025 initiative in Brooklyn, New York. This campaign was developed to encourage local residents to join their community boards, fostering greater civic engagement, representation, and advocacy within their neighborhoods. A key focus of this initiative was to increase the number of young community board members, ensuring that local governance reflects the perspectives and needs of a broader, more diverse population.
My role involved creating a cohesive visual identity for the campaign, including social media graphics, informational brochures, and event posters. The designs featured vibrant colors and dynamic layouts to capture attention while maintaining clarity and accessibility. By incorporating imagery representative of Brooklyn’s diverse communities, the materials aimed to resonate with a wide audience, particularly younger generations looking to make an impact.
The promotional efforts successfully increased awareness and participation in the recruitment process, leading to a noticeable rise in young community board applicants. This project underscored the power of strategic design in mobilizing citizens, particularly youth, toward active civic participation and local leadership.
