I had the privilege of designing promotional materials for the Community Baby Shower Fund, an initiative launched by Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. This fund provides matching grants of up to $5,000 to Brooklyn-based nonprofits that host community baby showers, helping to support new and expecting parents—especially in neighborhoods with historically high maternal mortality and morbidity rates. The goal is to ensure that families have access to essential resources, education, and a strong support system as they prepare for parenthood.
My role involved crafting a cohesive visual identity for the campaign, including social media graphics and event materials. The design approach focused on warmth and inclusivity, using inviting color palettes, uplifting imagery, and clear typography to effectively communicate the fund’s purpose. By integrating elements that reflected Brooklyn’s diverse communities, the visuals helped create an accessible and engaging experience for both nonprofits and residents.
The campaign successfully increased awareness of the fund, leading to a strong response from local organizations. To date, multiple nonprofits have received grants, allowing them to host baby showers that provide essential supplies, health resources, and parenting workshops. This project highlighted the impact of thoughtful, strategic design in amplifying social initiatives and mobilizing communities for meaningful change.
