As the Graphic Designer for the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President, I was tasked with a rebranding project with one clear mission: to make the office stand out from the typical government aesthetic. The goal was to create a visual identity that truly captured Brooklyn’s unique spirit—vibrant, diverse, and forward-thinking—while still maintaining a sense of professionalism and approachability.
Highlights of the Rebrand:
Logo Overhaul: I crafted a fresh, modern logo that reflects the borough’s boldness and individuality, helping to break away from the standard, rigid government look.
Color and Typography: I selected a new color palette and typography that feel fresh and dynamic, giving the office a look that’s as lively and diverse as Brooklyn itself.
Brand Guidelines: To keep everything consistent and sharp, I developed detailed brand guidelines that ensured the new identity translated seamlessly across all touchpoints.
Updated Collateral: From stationery to presentation templates, I revamped all the office’s materials, giving them a more cohesive and modern feel.
This rebranding was about more than just a new look—it was about presenting the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President as a leader in local government with a design language that connects with the community and stands apart from the norm.
